Popsicles and pinwheels

Martin's school has a spring day called Popsicles and pinwheels that they invite the parents to. It was last Thursday and Bryan was off so we headed off to p&p. it was fun to visit with the other mom's. Of course all the other kids are covered in Popsicle (actually frozen fruit slush) and Martin takes one bite and says this is yucky! Luckily I carry a stash of fruit snacks in my truck. So Martin changed the party to Fruit Snacks and Pinwheels! He had fun. And Olivia never misses a chance for people to tell her how cute she is! She is getting so big and will be 4 months tomorrow. I simply cannot believe it. Happy Monday!

Busy busy busy

Since Martin was feeling better this past weekend, we took advantage and worked in the yard. We pulled up plants, planted new bushes in their place, planted 3 flats of seasonal color. Redid my planters on the porch, hung two new hanging baskets and remulched everything! It all looks great. Amazing what a fresh coat of mulch can do. We also made an area for Martin's cottage he got from the Easter Bunny. He was so excited about his spot for the house. We even planted some flowers in the window boxes and he thinks he has hit the big time now. He loves to be outside so another good outside toy was just the perfect thing for him! That Easter Bunny is a pretty cool boy. Livi is still just growing like crazy. When you lay her down she just rolls and rolls. She is never where you left her when you come back. I just want to press pause. With Martin we were anxious for the next phase or milestone, with Olivia I just want to stop time and keep her little! Love our sweet babies, and they love each other so much too. I love the way she watches Martin so closely (perhaps too close- there are a few things I don't want her to pick up). And, Martin always has to make sure she is taken care of.

Illness

We've had a rough week and a half around here!! Martin had two rounds of the stomach bug two Fridays in a row. I'll spare you all the details and just say he was really sick, got some zofran, better, fast forward a week, really sick again, zofran, not better, medicine with a steroid for his poor bum, finally feeling better now! Suffice it to say the stomach bug is no longer welcome at our home! Luckily sweet little Livi hasn't had it. Praying hard it stays that way! The only silver lining in the situation is that 2 1/2 year olds don't like to cuddle much, unless they are sick. He wanted to snuggle a lot, lay in my bed, and for me to rub his back. I would have done anything he wanted poor buddy was so sick. Olivia took advantage of the extra long naps and the quiet around the house. She even played with his dinos while he was too puny to complain! Finally on the mend around here and ready for a nice week!! Happy Monday folks.

Happy Easter

We had a great Easter at our house. No thanks to Martin's fear of the Easter Bunny. I mean, who can blame him? I don't know that I could trust a 6 ft costumed bunny either? Martin told his teacher at school on Thursday that the "Easter Bunny is a pretty cool boy". The things that boy says crack me up?!! He loved his Easter goodies. Martin got a bubble blowing Thomas the train push toy, beach stuff, bathing suit, lots of little things and candy and the big toy was a little tikes garden and grow playhouse and he LOVES it. He told our neighbor the bunny brought him a new house! Pretty funny--I think! Olivia's basket was full of everything she wanted (or maybe what mama wanted)! More swaddle wraps, baby sunglasses, hat for the beach, name bands for cups/bottles, a bathing suit, and a few other things. Both kids got too much stuff. The bunny went a little overboard this year. Hey--it happens, plus most everything was stuff they needed for spring/summer!

My parents came in town for the weekend since mom was on spring break. We had a great visit. And they couldn't believe how big Olivia had gotten since they last saw her. I can't believe it myself, and I see her everyday :)! We got to color Easter Eggs and decorate sugar cookies and Martin had a blast.

We didn't make it to the egg hunt on Saturday because of rain, but luckily we had a great one last weekend with some of Martin's cousins. The weather did turn nice enough Sunday afternoon to spend a few hours with the bubble blower outside!

Baby girl turned 3 months yesterday too. Pretty great way to celebrate Easter. She is getting such a little personality. She loves to "talk" to us. And definitely let's us know when she needs some more attention. Just like a little girl right? She liked seeing the bunny, and rubbed his soft fur while Martin was busy hiding from the bunny. I'm sure next year will be the same for her. Maybe he will change his mind about the bunny once he remembers all the loot he brought!
